An accreditation team from the Faculty of Ophthalmology at the West African College of Surgeons, headed by Prof. C. Mpyet and including Dr. A. Ramyil and Dr. E. Ezeanoskke, visited the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja. Their purpose was to evaluate the Department of Ophthalmology for reaccreditation for residency training.
They were warmly received by Professor B. A. Ekele, the Chief Medical Director, and members of the Top Management Committee. Dr. Rilwan Ciroma Muhammad, the Head of Department, guided them through the relevant areas of the Hospital during their visit.
Following their comprehensive assessment, the team held an exit debrief with Hospital Management before their departure, expressing optimism about a positive outcome.
