The Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital has made a donation of foot wears running into thousands of Naira to the Hospital. This is in addition to a cash of fifty-five thousand naira “to foot the bills or part of the bills of an, or some, indigent patient(s) in the Hospital.”

Making the donations, President of the Association of Resident Doctors, Dr. Robert Abah said it was in keeping with the Association’s pledge to adding value to the quality of care in the hospital and its immediate environment through a vibrant Corporate Social Responsibility. He gave the breakdown of the foot wears to include: twelve pairs of theatre boots and one hundred pairs of theatre shoes.

“We are committed to serving our training institution and its environ through our Corporate Social Responsibility, and we the members of ARD, UATH, humbly request you to accept our little presentation,” Dr. Abah said.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Professor Bissallah Ekele said the Top Management Committee of the Hospital was pleased with the Association of Resident Doctors of the Hospital for the donation which he said would go a long way in meeting the shortfalls of theatre boots and shoes in the hospital.
